The humble Petition of the UNDERSIGNED
JOHN JAMES Mc MICHAEL
MOST RESPECTFULLY SHOWETH
On the first day of March 1893 your Petitioner was
appointed an Ordinary Warder in the General Prisons Service!
in Ireland and continued to serve in that position until
the twenty fourth day of October 1895.
Your Petitioner was then appointed as Harder in the
Victoria Caol Hong Kong and was promised that hin services
under the Imperial Government would count towards
pension,
Your Petitioner arrived at Hong Kong on the twelfth day
of December 1895 and assumed his duties as an Ordinary
Warder of the Victoria Caol.
In July 1996 your
Petitioner was promoted to the rank of Principal Warder
and held that position until the thirty first day of May
